If there's any where in particular looking at, I can definitely recommend a few things to do.

No matter where you go, if you are spending the night, absolutely plan something to do at night. During the day, it's really easy to find things to do and places to see, but it's much harder to find things open at night that are still pretty fun. If you like sports events, those are usually pretty nice. I find that you can only wander the downtown area of some cities for so long.
